Meta & Google Paid Ad Surveillance

ComplexTraumaConsultant.com does not, has never, and will never use surveillance technology enabled through Google and Meta’s paid ad systems. These systems enable advertisers to track users across multiple platforms for weeks. Marketers that engage in this surveillance-based ad tracking actively participate in this system by choosing to put Google or Meta’s tracking codes on their sites–users, however, do not actively consent. ComplexTraumaConsultant.com does not engage in any form of surveillance, and there are no tracking codes on this site.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on this site, WordPress’ system collects the data shown in the comments form and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. This is automated through WordPress and not something ComplexTraumaConsultant.com is actively involved in.

An anonymized string created from the commenter’s email address (also called a “hash”) is generally provided to WordPress’ comment collaborator, an organization called Gravatar, to see if the commenter is using the Gravatar service. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy. After approval of a comment, the commenter’s Gravatar profile picture is visible to the public next to the comment. Finally, visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
